Serve as the subject matter expert and provide governance and oversight for combustion turbines and associated components at PSEG Powers fossil plants in NJ, NY, CT and TX. Fleet includes Siemens VA4s; GE FA, LM-6000, EA Frame 7 and Pratt & Whitney FT4 combustion turbines.
Responsibilities shall include the following:
Governance and oversight of fleet combustion turbine operating and maintenance standards
Provide troubleshooting assistance to stations
Develop Fleet-wide strategies to optimize combustion turbine performance
Provide technical expertise and guidance during operation, projects and outages
Perform walk downs and inspections of equipment and enter notifications when deficiencies are found
Provide guidance on predictive and preventive maintenance programs to support top quartile performance in availability, reliability, and cost
Make recommendations for repairs, upgrades, or replacements
Lead or assist in root cause analysis of station events as assigned
Provide guidance on vendor selection for critical services and inspections
Maintain and apply PSEG Fossil Operational Excellence Model standards
Stay current on industry best practices through attendance and participation in OEM, vendor or user conferences
Implement best practices across the fleet through peer groups
Be familiar with appropriate codes and standards
. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business Controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls.
Required:
. BS degree in Engineering, Science or Technology or a combination of education and at least 8 years power generation industry experience with minimum of five years directly related to combustion turbines - Exceptional experience in combustion turbine field work for manufacturer or military may be considered in lieu of formal degree.
PSEG recognizes institutions of higher education which are accredited
by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent
. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
. Self-motivated and self-directed
. Flexibility with handling several and changing priorities
Desired:
. PE license, advanced technical degree, six sigma or PMP
. Willingness to work weekend and off normal hours, travel to various plant sites and vendor shops, work in a plant environment, and wear appropriate PPE as required.
