This position supervises, provides technical direction and coordinates all work associated with the maintenance and repair of electric generators, boilers, steam and gas turbines and related equipment. This is a safety sensitive position. Major Duties/Responsibilities: Supervise, plan and direct maintenance and repair activities both at the shop and in the field. Assist in the development and administration of preventive maintenance. Manage and supervise associates and provide leadership by training, appraising, coaching, counseling, rewarding and disciplining associates. Foster inter- and intra-departmental teamwork to meet Fossil Generation’s mission. Estimate, plan, schedule and direct repair and maintenance activities including interfacing with other organizations (Nuclear, etc.). Manage resources by utilizing administrative systems and procedures such as the Managed Maintenance Work process (MMW) and the Management System (WMS). Support development of estimates and technical proposals for customers. Maintain and apply working knowledge of PSEG Standards for Business controls and meet management's expectations for effective internal business controls. Must obtain an acceptable score on the First Line Supervisor's Test (FLST) unless presently and directly supervising blue collar, operating department/represented associates for a minimum of 12 continuous months. For those who have previously taken and received an acceptable score on the FLST but who are not presently and directly supervising represented associates, test results will be valid for a maximum period of two years from the date the test was taken. Acceptable results exceeding the two-year period (for those applicants not presently and directly supervising represented associates) cannot be used in biding on or applying for a first line supervisory position for which the test was validated. Must have a Valid driver’s license. Desired: BS in engineering, Technical Certification or Training.
