J. Craig Venter Institute is currently seeking a Maintenance Supervisor.

The Maintenance Supervisor will be required to supervise Building Maintenance Mechanics along with performing the repair and maintenance of all HVAC systems. This position will also be responsible for organizing and tracking assigned activities, reviewing and providing developmental guidance to staff, ordering supplies and materials and assisting the Facilities Manager in tracking and monitoring vendor Preventive Maintenance contracts along with in-house Preventive Maintenance. This position will also ensure that proper EHS procedures are communicated and followed.

Successful candidates must have knowledge of Siemens computerized building management systems and possess a 1st grade stationary license. Candidates should also have working knowledge of typical laboratory infrastructure systems. (Electrical, mechanical, purified water, etc.)
As well as, solid working knowledge of building infrastructure electrical/mechanical systems
High School diploma or equivalency required. Must be proficient in electrical (control circuits), plumbing, reading schematics/drawings, and must have a minimum of 4 years experience supervising a facilities team. Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 lbs, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 lbs. Must be in possession and maintain a valid drivers license with an acceptable driving record.
