Our client is a world leading multi-specialist energy services provider, offering energy and environmental solutions to clients globally. Through their research and development they are ensuring that energy is produced more cleanly and efficiently than ever before. Due to significant project wins, they are currently recruiting for a Boiler Mechanical Design Engineer.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
*Ideally, B.Eng Mechanical Engineering and Chartered status
*Significant experience in Front End Design of Power Plant and utility boilers
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be a Mechanical engineer with hands on experience in the design of hot structures associated with large utility power boilers. This will include experience in the design of:
· boiler sling components
· suspension deck components
· Framing/buckstays components
· Calculating boiler movements
· Flues & Ducts
You will have experience of material selection and suitable structural codes to meet the stringent conditions for these components.
Knowledge & experience of boiler pressure part design to ASME standards would be a distinct advantage.
Working within a team of 4-5, you will report to the Project Engineer and Technical Authority. Reading and Checking Drawings, liaising with Draughtsperson, checking calculations and collating technical information on a central spreadsheet to highlight any issues to the Project Engineer
