Lipten Company is an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) contractor in the boiler/plant utilities industry. We seek an individual to fill a position in our Wixom, Michigan office as a Proposal - Estimating Engineer. Primary to the position is the generation of proposals which include design & application analysis, engineering services, capital equipment, materials, sub-contractors, internal and field services, and fabrication of components. This is a technical position involving:

o Detailed Specification review and analysis and/or Design-Build review
o Overview of Specification or Design-Build requirements
o Breakdown of Terms and Conditions
o Breakdown of Equipment and Material requirements
o Breakdown of Sub-Contractor requirements
o Breakdown of Company’s internal services requirement
o Development of Scope of Supply inclusions
o Solicitation for Equipment Supplier Quotations
o Development of Scope of Work inclusions
o Solicitation for Sub-Contractor Quotations
o Coordination and Review of Equipment Supplier and Contractor Proposals
o Preparation of Proposal to end user
o Written Description of inclusions within proposal
o Financial and Pricing criteria for proposal inclusions
o Consolidation and Coordination of submittal data for proposal
o Development of Proposal exceptions and clarifications
o Respond to questions regarding proposal intention, content and pricing.

The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, provide great attention to detail, able to juggle multiple tasks and work as a team member with other disciplines. Some travel may be required for project review and client meetings. A AS or BS degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is desired. No prior experience is required. Good communication skills, both oral and written are a must. The candidate must be very proficient with a solid working knowledge of:

o MS Word
o MS Excel
o Adobe Acrobat
o Good keyboard typing skills
