I have a W-M....my first steam system, and one of the things I was instructed to do was to open a ball valve near bottom, let dirty water drain until clear (usually took about 30 seconds or so, and drain slowed to trickle) then fill up using different ball valve until sight glass 2/3 full. Tonight I woke up to loud banging coming, it seemed, from boiler room and every radiator in house. a decent amount of water was pooled under one radiator. On boiler, saw that sight glass was full )although I am pretty sure I did not overfill last week). I opened drain valve I normally do and water begain draining out.....and continued to do so, with no change in sight glass and with seemingly no end. I drained several gallons of water and it appears now that I'm not "draining" anything, I'm just letting water flow - from somewhere. From reading other posts, it seems maybe boiler maybe is 'flooded'? The "fill" valve I typically use is definitely closed, so where is this water coming from?
