I'm considering replacing my boiler and direct fire water heater with a Trinity combination boiler and tankless domestic water heater. Seems like the perfect marriage. But, I was told by a local, Alaskan retailer the tankless domestic water heaters don't work well enough, yet. Would I be better off purchasing a boiler with a seperate indirect water heater even though it seems the cost savings of only heating the water as it's used would be much greater than any other way of heating domestic water?
