Just had a replacement steam boiler installed.
The gas supply line (1-1/4" iron) is in direct contact with the steam branch supply pipes (2, 2" iron) where it crosses under them. It seems as if this was done intentionally because the gas fittings in the proximity would have allowed for at least an inch of clearance under the steam.
This doesn't seem safe to me and it prevents insulation at that point.
Is there a reason to pre-heat the gas on the way to the boiler?
The gas pipe gets pretty warm, should I be concearned?
Change it? Praise it? or, Ignore it?
