A 150,000 boiler will heat a 6000 sq ft modern-insulated home, a 3000 sq ft 1960's home, or a completely uninsulated 1400 sq ft home. Of course, paying fuel for an uninsulated home is also expensive and will get moreso. If the home is insulated, the boiler will hardly run more than a few minutes at a time, lowering the efficiency to about 60% due to heat-up and cool-down times. That could be costly at over $4 a gallon.
