Reflectix seems like a nice alternative to fiberglass pipe insulation as it is fiber-free and easy to install. But it works as a radiant barrier and the literature states R value is not a good way to measure the effectiveness of it.
I can't find any data on whether heat transfer from radiator piping is convective or radiant, of if both what %. If it is radiant then it would seem Reflectix would work well. Thoughts?
