Having a HELL of a time finding a compotent, reliable, and honest contractor to install a new boiler for me.
The current quote that I am giving serious though to going with is for a Weil McClain WTGO-4
My house is ~2250 sqft with a heated 2 car garage, gas isnt an option, oil is it
I like the looks of the UO-4 (much cleaner look) and it appears statistically it is the same as the WTGO-4
ALSO.....
Have heard from several people that I should look at getting a "control unit" the measures temperature inside and out and demand for heat and then adjust the boiler to most efficently meet the demand.
So, any thoughs/comments/ideas?
The company I am looking to go with said they can (and do) use Burnham as well, but due to my install, the Weil McClain is a better fit (clean out port)
I also asked them if they do with any work with Buderus, as I have heard several good things about them.
Thanks
The quote is:
WTGO - 4 $2835
Boiler Stand: $175
Sec (?) limit $99
Spiro Top $93
Extrol -F338 Backflow $225
Fuel Lines $120
Stack $125
Heat Shield (dont have any right now and chimney is about 12" from wall) $250
Return Header $599
Supply Header $168
Copper/Blh/Brass/Strut/Fitting $800
Labor $3600
My furnace is 20+ years old and sits flat on the slab. So there will be some work in raising it and rerouting some of the pipes
