"Heat loss" is indicative of anything less than 90%. You are just sending BTU heat out the flue instead of heating the water. I just re-piped, and tuned a Weil-McLain Ultra in a four story early 1900's house. The homeowner loves it in comparison to their old gas guzzler boiler. Not to mention the Ultra is a modulating boiler that fires only as much BTU as is needed as opposed to full on or off.
