So get someone who actually HAS and electronic combustion test kit with them when they do service and show they use it while you look as they fill out the adjustment form. You can ask the service manager of major oil companies if they have someone with a truck that has a combustion test kit with someone who knows how to use it. If the tech comes in with a pliers, screwdriver, and no combustion test kit, send him right out the other door. It isn't possible to 'get'er done' with a look and a guess.
If the burner can't reach 11% CO2 with zero smoke, then it's time for a new one.
