Does anyone do this in a residential application? The idea is to use the cheaper fuel and have a backup in case the oil fails for a silly reason like a clogged nozzle.
If I have an oil chimney, then I don't need to change anything?
Can I buy an oil boiler and then switch later by changing just the burner?
: Dual-fuel gas/oil burners are used in commercial boilers. The oil burner requires high-temp chimney, gas can use that same chimney for the power gas burner - that's the way it's done for dual-fuel power burners. The boiler would be made for oil burners with the dual-fuel burner added.
