I have a 2 pipe system in a 5500 sq foot 1920 house. Boiler was replaced 11 yrs ago. I insulated all pipes 2 yrs ago but gas bills are extremely high still. I suspect all the thermostatic steam traps on the radiators need rebuilt- they all look original and appear to have failed in open position on all the radiators-24 total. Would it be cost effective to replace them in hopes of lowering gas bills? HELP!!
