If you have traps, then it is a two-pipe system, If it has vents, then it is probably a one-pipe system. When you know what you have, then you can adjust heat. If the radiators become hot evenly after 20 minutes, then you are closer to good adjustment. If the burner heats the radiation and shuts off in five minutes, the burner input is too much for the system.
