Leaky check valve on Fill-Trol expansion tank

I have an American Standard gas boiler with a Fill-Trol expanion tank model 109-16, aged 30+ years. The check valve started dripping while the system was idle over the summer. What could cause this? Can it be repaired or do I likely need a new expansion tank?
