+++ No. It is part of the boiler subloop to:
The boiler subloop assures that no matter what zone is closed, The flow through the boiler is the same, as explained in the site reference in the post above. The circulator internal to the boiler sends the water around its piping loop which includes the 1-1/4 bypass part of the system main. The heated boiler water blends with the water passing by that point as the system water goes to the radiation.
