New boiler quote

I need a new boiler. I got a quote from a reputable company I've dealt with before for a Weil-McLain WGO-3 and circulator pump, installed, for about $4500. I also got a quote from a guy I don't know who is an independent for about $500 less.

Am I paying too much to the reputable company? Is it worth the savings to go with a guy who may or may not be reliable?
