Aquastat relay

When I went to fire up the boiler this past week, it didn't start. After a little investigation, I found that the problem seemed to be that the electromagnet was failing. (it wouldn't pull the switch down on its own but it would hold the switch down if I pushed it down).

This is a HoneyWell L8148E, BTW

I found a rebuilt SidHarvey one on Ebay and it arrived yesterday. I installed it and the exact same thing is happening with the replacement L8148E.

I've tried shorting Tv and T myself to rule out the thermosatat and wiring and it still does that same thing.

Do I have an old aquastat and a new rebuilt one with the same problem or am I missing something?
