Converting from steam to hot water

We are in the process of replacing a 60 yr old steam boiler and converting over to a hot water boiler. The guy who is doing this for us tells me I need to remove a small plug from the end of each radiator to allow the installation of a bleeder. I tried last night to get one out - it has a slotted head to it. I applied liquid wrench and let it sit for a few hours but the thing won't budge. We have to replace the valve/handle on each radiator anyway since they are not water tight. Are there replacement valves/handles that have a bleeder on them? I would hate to have to drill each one of those plugs out. Thanks for any input.
