I have a Weil McLean boiler with a Honeywell triple aquastat. It has a high, low and diff setting.
Recently I noticed the boiler temp was frequently running at 230 degrees.
This was with the aquastat settings at
high -- 200
low -- 180
diff -- 15
I pulled the boiler gauge and put it in boiling water. It read 212 exactly. I put new heat sink compound on the aquastat bulb and it made no difference.
So I put in a new aquastat... and.... the boiler shuts off sometimes at 210 and sometimes at 230 again.
I thought the boiler temp should never go higher than the high limit setting.
Can anyone please help me on this.
Thanks
