Yes, vents on steam radiators that hiss all the time are mot shutting down when the steam hits them, so they are steam-cleaning the house. Make sure the steam pressure does not go over 2-1/2 psig, or the steam vents are damaged. Replace the hissing steam vents with new ones that will stop hissing when the radiator is filled with steam.
