: Hello,
: I have a 11 year old Burnham boiler (oil/steam) and when it starts up to heat it sounds fine. When it shuts off, it rumbles, noticeably enough that the house seems to tremble a little. Some times it happens every 10-20 minutes and then repeats itself. I know its cold out but this has been happenning for a week now. Does anyone know what causes this shut down rumble? Thank you.

Sounds like an afterburn problem. Could be loose nozzle, bad fuel pump cutoff, air bubble in nozzle line etc. Your gonna need a tech for this one as special tools will be required to diagnose it.
