Hi,
I have a 1700 square foot home (basement, first & second floor) my present system is a gravity fed oil boiler. I would like to know how to size the new boiler. I have 9 appropriately sized cast iron rads for the square footage of my house but I have been told that on average two cast iron rads could take up all the amount of heated water in my boiler when calling for heat. Does this mean I would have to have approximately 4 zones in order for my boiler to supply emough heat when called by 1 zone. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.
