Just to get the focus correct, zone circulators or zone valves do not belong to the boiler, they are part of the system arrangement, just as a boiler is a part of the system.

You can use a circulator for each zone.

You can also use one circulator and zone valves to control each zone.

If the old circulators were not making noise and heated the home, they can still be used, that is your choice - they can be replaced at any time when they go bad, if ever.
