Thanks for the info. Actually, we have about 1400 sq ft - but we're talking an 1880's home with no insulation in the walls, except for the added R value of new aluminum siding on top of the old (wood) with 1/2 foam backing. We do, though, have new double-pane windows throughout. So, my estimate of 85000 BTUH suggests a net 'factor' of about 60 - seems reasonable? I'm leaning towards a Weil-McLain Ultra 105 (93+%) instead of the 155 model. Sound about right?
: *** Hmmm, you must have a 3000 square foot house, as the square foot times 40 is the usual guess (for 1960 insulation standards. 1990 and later homes are about 25 btuh per sq ft.)
