Help on sizing boiler

I need help calculating the proper size for a replacement oil fired hot water boiler.

Do I just calculate the linear feet of baseboard in the house and multiply by 600?

What are the pros and cons of erring on the larger
size for a boiler?

I will also be indirectly heating hot water.
Do I need to take this into consideration?
