Thanks everyone for all the advice (via here and heatinghelp.com). Today we insulated with regular roll insualation and aluminum duct tape. The pre-formed at Home Depot was 5 bucks for 3' and wasn't very thick (about 1/2"). We got some R13 Owens Corning, 3 1/2" thick. ($9 for 32') I thought about getting the thicker stuff but I'm glad I didn't. There were places where the R13 was tricky to fit in. It's supposed to be cooler tomorrow so we'll see if the insulation helps.
