Thermostatic air vents are used on one-pipe. They close off the air venting. They do not work on the first cycle of the day if there has been a setback etc. If they close after the air is vented, steam keeps coming in replacing the condensing steam. Determine your overheating pattern, over boilerroom, along a riser that has oversized radiation, solar gain, thermostat location etc. If you have a big solar gain, an outdoor reset might help by sensing it sooner. Some brands to check; Honeywell, Danfoss, ISTA try their websites.
