Ah, yes, but if the heat has been good and the length of the heating cycle was good, the burner nozzle tells you the input. Each gallon per hour of oil through the nozzle (they have the flow rate stamped on them) is about 140,000 btuh. The gas unit would need that much input if no radiators have been removed.
