I am replacing a 75+ year-old oil steam boiler in a 2,600 sq. foot home. I am looking for a boiler that will burn fuels other than heating oil or propane in light of rising fuel prices. I would prefer a combination unit that burns oil and another fuel such as wood. I have not found many wood combo steam boilers out there - do they exist? I have considered installing a hot water system, but it seems rather expensive to switch, plus I'd like to use the existing antique radiators. Natural gas utilities are not available. Thanks for your help.
