Can I change a steam system to hot water?

I have a steam system dating back to 1937. I'm going to change the boiler and have many decisions to make; fuel oil or gas? hydro air? stay with steam. Hot water radiant? For each "Pro" I speak to I get a totaly different answer.

I am leaning towards changing the steam to hot water (if that is possible) and runnung some baseboards in addition to the old radiators.

Any thoughts.? Thanks
