I am new to boilers and I do not know much about seasonal maintenance. I have a Ajax Steam Boiler SGX-200, the landlord had the boiler cleaned when we moved in. The repair man said the gasket (the one that is behind the big plate door, which covers the tubes) needs replacement every 1-2 years. It seems that the gasket should last longer than that. Is he looking for an extra buck or is he telling the truth?
Thanks for any advice you can give me.
