I operate a 30 year old high pressure (2800#) boiler and the gas pass tubes are suffering from the inevitable sootblower erosion. My problem is that the maintenaince dept. keeps harping on us for blowing too often when in fact we blow only when necessary to facilitate heat transfer. Any suggestions???
