In the early 1990s, when the internet was still in its infancy and long before social media, Vincent Sands created Boilerroom.com with a simple purpose: give steam industry professionals a place to find one another, ask questions, and share what they knew.
Much of the industry's practical knowledge lived in the experience of the people who designed, installed, operated, and maintained its equipment. Boilerroom.com provided a meeting place beyond individual companies and local professional networks—where a question from one boiler room could reach someone with relevant experience in another.
Through its steam forums, the site brought together people facing real operating problems and people willing to help. Discussions covered troubleshooting, equipment selection, system performance, and lessons learned through years of working with boilers and steam. The value came from the participants: professionals who took the time to pass their experience along.
Those conversations remain part of Boilerroom.com's history. Preserving them honors the people who contributed and the idea that started it all: our industry benefits when knowledge is shared.
